Lydney – Taurus Crafts – Stone-Set Ring – 9 March – FULLY BOOKED

March 9 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Stone-Set Ring

Mother’s Day Treat?!!

Come and make your own sterling silver stone-set ring at this informative and friendly class in Wendy’s studio at Taurus Crafts, Lydney, Forest of Dean.

Suitable for beginners and improvers alike, you will be taught how to make your own gem-set ring by creating the ring shank in sterling silver and then construct a bezel setting in silver for a semi-precious gem cabochon.  There are a variety of options in terms of size and colour of gems (eg, sodalite, amethyst, chalcedony, onyx, carnelian, aventurine, green moss agate, green agate, goldstone, turquoise etc).  If you have a particular preference for a gem, just let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you

Here are a few of those options made by previous students:

gem ring workshop

Learn artisan silversmithing techniques and a little of the history of silver and hallmarking.

At the end of the workshop you’ll not only have some lovely personalised jewellery to take away, but also a huge sense of well being, pride and achievement.

The cost of the workshop is £120 which includes all materials (silver and gems), homemade shortbread and refreshments.

To book your place, pay £25 deposit now and the balance either a few days before by bank transfer or on the day with cash.  Wendy will contact you with all the information you need a week before.

You might like to bring a packed lunch as the workshop will go on until approx 4pm, or you can visit the onsite cafe to treat yourself to lunch.
